Day 18 : Luntiang Siit and Hugis Sining

At 9am, I headed to Pandi, Bulacan to meet the Pandi Circle of Luntiang Siit. Luntiang Siit has two circles : Pandi Circle and Bocaue Circle.

Luntiang Siit is a community-based theater group that started in 1999 in Bocaue, Bulacan. The group was formerly known as Sinag Kabataan Artists Foundation. The interesting feature of this group is that they have members from two different towns : Bocaue and Pandi.

This day, I met Revelino delos Santos, the Artistic Director, and some of the members from Pandi, Bulacan. They were reading the play for their next production. The group is composed of pro-active youth who believed that they can also share in the development of artistic excellence of Bulacan culture and arts.

From there, I went to SM City Marilao to watch the opening of an art exhibit of Hugis Sining, with Direk Armand Sta Ana.

I met the artist-curator of Hugis Sining, Jonathan Ranola, who also teaches at the Institute of Fine Arts and Architectue of Bulacan State University. This is already their 4th exhibit and is dubbed as LARAWAN, which showcases portrait works of young Bulacan visual artists. Many of the exhibit participants are students of BSU. I talked to Jonathan that I will interview him next week.

In the evening, I watched BK rehearsals of JOYA.
