Day 11 – ASEAN TAYO 2006 and Day 1 of NonVerbal Theater WS

At 10am, I went to witness the ASEAN TAYO 2006 Exposure Trip to Bulacan at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center. Folk dancers welcomed the ASEAN delegates. The event was an exposure to visit Bulacan, which has 2 ASEAN TAYO awardees already. ASEAN Ten Accomplished Youth Organization (TAYO) acknowledges the outstanding youth organizations that has outstanding community projects.

Sining Bulakenyo was awarded in 2005. Guiguinto Scholars Association is awarded this year. Marilao Nationalist Youth Organization is a finalist this year.

Sining Bulakenyo and Guiguinto Scholars Association performed Filipiniana dances. After the performances, the ASEAN guests were asked to learn Philippine folk dances especially the tinikling.

In the afternoon, I prepared for the Day 1 session of the Non-verbal Theater Workshop with the Barasoain Kalinangan. At 7pm, I started the workshop to 12 BK artists. I introduced and discussed the practice of nonverbal theater. I started with meditation exercises (walking meditation, spinning meditation). I then worked on guided improvisations with focus.

Rest for the day.
