Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur

Dear Mr. Blanco:

We are pleased to inform you about UGNAYAN SA SINING, an artists immersion, collaboration and exchange program. It aims to grant deserving Filipino artists to immerse in selected local communities so they can be endowed with culturally valid information, knowledge and experiences that would motivate them and enhance their artistic pursuits.

Knowing of your unique artistic qualifications and commendable initiatives to further cultural development, we would like to invite you to be a part of this worthy undertaking. More specifically, we have considered you to be one of the possible recipients of this program. To facilitate the final approval of your immersion grant, please submit a two page abstract of how you intend to implement a one month immersion with the Barasoain Kalinangan Foundation Inc. (BKFI) in Malolos, Bulacan. Also, please fill-up the attached form and send it back to us on or before July 10, 2006. You will stay in Malolos, Bulacan and hopefully work with BKFI for their forthcoming production/s from August to September 2006.

Upon approval of your program, The CCP Outreach & Exchange Division will arrange & provide your travel and logistical requirements. We have requested BKFI to arrange and coordinate your work program in their community and provide the necessary assistance for your one month immersion.

Through this project, we hope to instill among artists a deeper understanding, appreciation of the vital role that Art and the artists play in community development and encourage them to create socially relevant and high-quality artistic works. Please find attached the project brief and a profile of BKFI for your reference and guidance.

With our joint effort, artists will be able to create an artwork inspired by the communities’ unique practices, mores, struggles and more importantly, manifest good character, values and genuine spirit of the Filipino people. Should you have questions, please contact Sonny Cristobal and/or Armie Laudencia at telephone number 832-1125 local 1710/1701 or telefax no. 8325094 or email address or
